Note: In December 2004 courseweb was changed to a secure server. One of the implications of that change is that all links became case sensitive. Pages made prior to January 2005 still exist on this site but may not be able to be retrieved due to a case sensitive link problem. Contact Theresa Overall (theresa@unt.edu) if there is a specific page that you are trying to get to but can't.

  Background

Theresa Overall taught elementary math and was technology coordinator at The Lamplighter School for 21 years. Lamplighter was the alpha test site for the first commercial version of Logo, the graphics programming language designed to teach mathematics and problem solving. Theresa was liaison between Lamplighter and Texas Instruments. She had the privilege of working closely with Dr. Seymour Papert, creator of Logo and internationally recognized leader in the field of children, computers, and learning.

Theresa is currently a Ph.D. student in Educational Computing at The University of North Texas (UNT). She finished coursework, passed her portfolio in lieu of comprehensive exam, and passed her oral exam in May 2004. For her dissertation, she plans to address the area of gender equity in mathematics education with technology. She earned a master's in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems in May 2001 from UNT and a bachelor's in Mathematics and Statistics in May 1978 from Hollins College (now Hollins University).
