HTML Information
Assignment #1 - Vita in HTML
Produce a brief vita for yourself in Microsoft Word and convert it to HTML.  Use Netscape Composer to edit the product as necessary.  Come to class the next class prepared to show your work by pulling it up on the computer in Netscape.
Turn in:
  • a printed copy of your vita in word, and
  • a printout of the HTML version .
  • Due Date: Thursday, Oct. 5, by 5:00 pm
    Value: 10 points
    Note: You may turn in this assignment by hand delivery, regular mail or by fax (the fax number and address are listed on the syllabus.

    Assignment #2 - Net Browsing / Searching
    Part A: Use 5 different search engines to locate information on topics of interest to you, write up the summaries and convert the summary to HTML:
  • At least one search should involve a Boolean Operator.
  • Write a brief comparison  (compare and contrast) of the different search engines, including the Boolean search completed.
  • E-mail  the summary (in HTML) to all members of your class and to arrowood@coefs.coe.unt.edu
  • Come to class on October 21, prepared to show your comparison on the screen in a web browser.
  • Due Date: Thursday, October 19, by 5:00 pm.
    Value: 5 points
    Part B:  Paper/PowerPoint presentation
    Due Date: Saturday, Oct 21, at the beginning of class
    Value: 5 points
    Note: The paper must include at least 3 references (correctly cited) from the Internet.

    Assignment #3 - Final Editing/FTP



    Assignment #4 - Web Page Construction:
    Construct your own web site on a floppy disk and have it provide links to at least two other web sites of interest to you. Also, have a link from your home page back to the CECS 5030 class page and your other assignments. These should be ftped to your own folder on smolka.net. Your web site should include (minimum requirements):
    Due Date: November 18 at the beginning of class.
    Value: 30 Points
